I have just got back from Chamonix where I have spent a week filming the latest round of Project Alpine Spirit. I teamed up with my good friend Huw Gilbert as I knew I would need a climbing partner and an extra pair of legs to help me with this element of the project and together we drove out from the UK with a van full of climbing and filming equipment. Our arrival coincided with some big storms and a series of rest days for Mo, Lou and Becky. When filming documentary style like this you learn to be flexible and adaptable and so we made the most of the down time to get some interviews in the bag.

Once the legs were refreshed and the weather improved we headed round to Italy and spent a couple of days high in the mountains. Huw and I bivvied whilst the team stayed in the Torrino Refuge. We followed them up the Deant du Geant and then headed back to Chamonix for some helicopter filming at sunrise. Mo, Lou and Becky then climbed the Diables Ridge onto Mont Blanc du Tacul which saw them bag another 7 summits to take their tally to 40 so far – super impressive and bang on target to be the first all female team to climb all of the 4000m peaks and to do so in a single year. I am back out again August for some more lung busting action so stay tuned!
