This introduction to outdoor photography workshop is ideal for anyone who would like to get more out of their photography. You don’t need any fancy equipment, we will teach you how to make the most of what you have, whether it be a camera or a phone. If you want to use the images to promote your business or just improve your skills for your own satisfaction then over two days we will improve your photography skills and your photos. Run by award winning photographer Rob Johnson who has the unique skillset of also being one of the UK’s highest qualified Mountaineering Instructors this course is perfect for beginners and is run in the valleys of Snowdonia.

This workshop is for anyone who has an interest in developing their photography skills. It is suitable for complete beginners and uses kit that you already have, be that a camera or a phone. We don’t climb mountains as the course is valley based but we are outdoors all day so you need to be happy spending the day on your feet and walking between locations.
The two days are spent outdoors photographing some of the beautiful mountains of Snowdonia. We will introduce you to the following:
Composition
Use of the light
Framing and designing the shot
Using camera settings to vary the effects
Learn the impact of using long exposure, shallow depth of field and other techniques.

We run the course in Snowdonia and typically visit locations that are within 15-20 minutes drive of Capel Curig.
The workshop is run by Rob Johnson, an award winning photographer and videographer and one of the UK’s highest qualified Mountaineering Instructors. With over 20 years of experience in the mountains you are in safe hands and benefit not only from his skills as a professional photographer but also as a professional instructor to aid your learning.
The workshop fee includes instruction only. You need to arrange your own travel and accommodation.
We meet each day in Capel Curig and the workshop starts at 9:00am on the first day and concludes by about 4:00pm on the second day.
